Organic Almonds

The new Dietary Guidelines say we should eat 4 to 5 servings of nuts, seeds or legumes a day. Did you know you can actually enhance your brainpower by eating almonds? These crunchy nuts have the most nutrients of any of the other nuts. They are a rich source of Vitamin E, calcium, phosphorous, iron and magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper and niacin.

Organic Canola Oil

Low in saturated fat, high in monounsaturated fat and full of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids, canola oil has well known heart-healthy benefits. Its lightness and mild taste adds moistness and clumpiness to our granola.

Chocolate Chips

Combining chocolate with granola creates a delicious treat. Satisfying that urge for chocolate turns out to be a healthy choice.

Chocolate is full of antioxidants, which are known to improve circulation, reduce cholesterol, improve your mood and may help to prevent certain kinds of cancer.

Cocoa beans are rich in flavanoids, which are part of a class of plant-derived antioxidants called polyphenols shown to have heart-protective effects. The natural flavanoids in chocolate can help to lower blood pressure.

Organic Coconut

The moist unsweetened coconut flakes in Boulder Granola add texture and a natural sweetness. This tropical nut is highly nutritious, full of fiber, vitamins and minerals as well as being an excellent source of protein. Coconut boosts energy and endurance. By increasing your metabolism and fat burning capabilities, the metabolic rate is actually raised. The lauric acid in coconut is a miracle ingredient, which is often called the natural germ fighter. It can help fight off bacteria and assists in fighting common infections. Shredded coconut contains 60% oil by weight, making it an excellent source of coconut oil, which aids in reducing total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and lipoproteins.

Organic Cranberry

Cranberries have long been valued for their medicinal properties. Not only are they high in antioxidants but they provide a potent source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. In fact, years ago sailors used them as a source of vitamin C to prevent scurvy on long sea voyages. Studies have shown that the antioxidant content of cranberries is five times that of broccoli! The antioxidants improve the function of the blood vessels, which reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attack. The presence of high levels of polyphenols, a type of potent antioxidant, adds to their ability to lower harmful cholesterol (LDL) and raise good cholesterol (HDL).

Organic Golden Flax Seeds

Flax seeds have been called the new wonder food. There is evidence that eating flax seeds can reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. Flaxseed is high in both soluble and insoluble fiber as well as Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Flaxseed is high in Lignans, natural cancer-protective compounds. Flax seed is also high in alpha linolenic acid (ALA) which has been found to be a cancer fighting agent. Research has shown that eating flax seeds every day increases the body's ability to defend itself successfully against bacteria and viruses as well as decreasing total cholesterol, including the LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides.

Organic Vermont Maple Syrup

This natural sugar produced from the sap of sugar maple trees in Vermont is delicious and packed with essential minerals. It takes approximately 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of pure maple syrup. We have kept the pure natural goodness of each ingredient and complemented them with just the right amount of sweetness. Boulder Granola isn't too sweet like lots of other granolas on the market.

Maple syrup is low on the Glycemic Index, which makes it safer for all of us. The zinc and manganese in maple syrup contain antioxidants that protect the heart as well as boost our immune systems. Manganese is an essential mineral important in energy production and antioxidant defenses. One ounce of maple syrup supplies 22.0% of the daily value for this important mineral that benefits our health. The sweet surprise is that maple syrup is an immune system booster! The zinc and manganese supplied by maple syrup are important allies in our immune systems. Zinc is essential for maintaining numbers of white blood cells and immune response. It also lessens inflammation, thus supporting healing

Organic Rice Milk Powder

Organic Rice Milk Powder is lactose and cholesterol free.
100% vegetable based, rice milk powder, is composed of more than 95% (dry matter) rice and its natural derivatives and it is rich in protein, vitamins and calcium. Rice, a staple food with a long tradition is the basis of a healthy diet for large parts of the world's population, is rich in complex carbohydrates, low in fat, and contains good quality protein. Complex carbohydrates are a valuable source of energy. Rice contains all the amino acids essential for building and maintaining muscle tissue and make up antibodies, enzymes, and hormones. These amino acids also help maintain healthy skin, hair, eyesight, and nourish the heart, lungs, tendons and ligaments, brain, nervous system and glands. Its amino acid profile is close to that of mother's milk. It is known and valued for being hypoallergenic, and free of gluten.

Organic Whole Grain Rolled Oats

There was a reason why our parents cooked oatmeal for us in the morning.

The best way to start your day is by eating oats and Boulder Granola is chock full of healthy organic oats. A single bowl of oats provides all the essential nutrients, complex carbohydrates, B vitamins, fiber, and minerals, such as phosphorous, iron, selenium and calcium. Betaglucans, a soluble fiber present in oats, has been proven effective in lowering blood cholesterol thus reducing the risk of heart disease. Because oats are a low-glycemic-index food and is high in fiber content, it can normalize blood sugar spikes. Oats have a higher concentration of well-balanced protein than other cereals, and being high in carbs as well, they are excellent for boosting performance. Other nutrients present in oats like Phosphorus, vitamin B, magnesium and iron help in energy production. The selenium and Vitamin E enhances our immune system's response to bacterial infection. This makes Boulder Granola the perfect healthy breakfast food to have on the morning table to insure your family's health.

Organic Certified Gluten-Free Oats

Our Organic Gluten-Free Granolas are made from oats that are certified to be Gluten-Free. This certification includes a complex and strict adherence to rules about cross-contamination.

Although oats are naturally gluten-free, certified gluten-free oats are kept separate from other grains that contain gluten. They are grown in fields that have not previously grown other gluten containing grains and are processed on equipment that does not process any other grains. The oats are stored, harvested and transported by non-contaminated transport equipment.

Organic Pecans

We combine pecans and almonds to create a special nutty flavor. Pecans contain more antioxidants than any other nut. Antioxidants are substances found in foods that protect against cell damage and, studies have shown, can help fight diseases like heart disease, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and cancer. They are also full of vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and fiber. Although pecans are high in fat, the fat found in pecans is healthy fat that can boost "good" cholesterol. Because of their mix of protein and healthy fat, pecans are slow to digest providing sustained energy.

Pecans and other nuts are high in protein as well as other nutrients. One-half ounce of nuts can take the place of one ounce of meat in your diet. Choosing nuts is a healthy choice since they contain more healthful types of fats than meat does and they are cholesterol-free.

Organic Golden Sesame Seeds

These tiny seeds have special properties that make them especially healthy. They are a wonderful source of protein, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc and dietary fiber. The two unique substances in sesame seeds; sesamin and sesamolin are Lignans, which are chemical compounds found in plants. Lignans have been shown to have cholesterol-lowering benefits as well as being essential antioxidants that act against cancer. Just a quarter cup of sesame seeds supplies 74.0% of the daily value of copper, 31.6% of the DV for magnesium, and 35.1% of the DV for calcium.

Organic Sunflower Seeds

Those bright yellow, tall sunflowers produce seeds bursting with delicious nutty flavor as well as being powerful sources of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Rich in vitamin E, sunflower seeds are an excellent source of antioxidants. They also provide a supply of protein, dietary fiber, magnesium, potassium, selenium, zinc and iron. While magnesium lowers your blood pressure, selenium can aid in repairing cellular damage while slowing the spread of cancerous cells. Meanwhile, iron helps to distribute oxygen to your muscles and zinc provides your immune system with the boost it needs to defend against common colds. While the recommended amount of fiber is approximately 30 grams per day, most people fail to consume more than 15 grams per day. Eating sunflower seeds is taking advantage of a powerful supply of the dietary fiber your body needs. Athletes eat sunflower seeds for their supply of protein and carbohydrates which are important for maintaining energy levels. The seeds can also stimulate the liver to release glycogen into the bloodstream. Because glycogen is a form of sugar, this provides an additional boost of quick energy. An amazing bonus about sunflower seeds is that they contain high levels of tryptophan, an essential amino acid that effectively increases your brain's production of serotonin. High levels of serotonin reduce tension which creates a relaxing effect.
